Additional Tests

The following additional tests may be required to monitor the condition:

• Bone marrow examination – to evaluate the overall bone marrow function
• Heart ultrasound scan (echocardiogram) – to investigate for possible raised blood pressure in the lungs and assess your heart function
• Abdominal ultrasound scan – to look for blood clots affecting the liver which can sometimes occur without symptoms,and review the size of the spleen.
